SUMMARY:Bible Study: Put to Death
DESCRIPTION:You are in a battle for your life. Against you stands the enemy army, ready to wage war for your soul. You know their names: Pride. Envy. Greed. Lust. Anger. Gluttony. Sloth. The church has long called them the seven deadly sins, reflecting the lethal power these inner desires have over your life. But what can we do about these inescapable vices? How can we fight the good fight of faith?\nJoin Pastor Ben on Sunday mornings for the first adult Bible Class of the fall to examine the false promises of the seven deadly sins and the ways in which they reveal our unbelief. More importantly, we’ll learn how Christ equips us to fight against these vices by putting them to death and cultivating contrary virtues which form us in love of God and our neighbor. Don’t miss this chance to learn how to fight the good fight of faith!\n

SUMMARY:Women’s Bible Study: Faith & Mental Health
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a new Women’s Bible study on a Scripture-centered approach to understanding mental and emotional struggles in light of God’s Word. We will be using, “Strong in the Lord: A Women’s Bible Study on Faith and Mental Health” by Dr. Jennifer K. Londgren, a licensed marriage and family therapist, counselor, and professor who brings together clinical insight and Lutheran theology. \nWe’ll look at anxiety, rumination, emotional overload, and relational strain, through the lens of Scripture and Christ’s promises, given in the Gospel and in our Baptism, where identity, comfort, and hope are certain. We want this to be a welcoming time for everyone, so please let us know if you will be bringing any children so that we can ensure we have enough babysitters available for the hour.\nSign up at the Purpose Place to secure your copy of the book ($7 cash or check made out to Bethlehem at the first meeting.) Reach out to Anna Schultz with any questions and we hope to see you there!\n

SUMMARY:Friday Men’s Bible Study: Life as a Christian Citizen
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Friday mornings as we look into what it means to be a Christian citizen in a world that says obey authority, pay your taxes, and you have the freedom to practice whatever religion you like, even as a politician.  While maybe controversial, the Bible still remains our steadfast objective truth relative to God’s creation.  With some help from Rev. Dr. Joel Biermann’s book, “The Two Realms and the Separation of Church and State”, part of the Apropos series, we will look at the Biblical context of citizenry in Christian faith.  Whether you are a David, Daniel, or Peter type, come join us Friday’s at 6am in the Fellowship Hall. Come grow in faith through the study of Scripture! Contact Brian Hackman with any questions.\n

SUMMARY:Trunk or Treat 2026
DESCRIPTION:Join us this year for Trunk or Treat, a fun way for us to connect with our community by decorating trunks, handing out candy, sharing hot chocolate, and creating a safe place for parents to bring their kids “trunk-or-treating”!\nWe’re looking forward to seeing what amazing decorations you come up with this year, and there will be prizes! Each car is responsible for their own decorations and candy supply. Please keep all trunk decorations and costumes kid friendly. Sign up here or at the Purpose Place (at the end of September!) if you plan to decorate a trunk. Be sure to invite all of your friends – this event is open to the community!\nWant to participate but don’t want to decorate a trunk? Consider helping serve the hot chocolate or donating candy to stock the “Bethlehem car” and to supplement cars that run out of candy. Candy can be dropped off at the Purpose Place in October. Reach out Alexis Potter to volunteer!\n

SUMMARY:Journey to Bethlehem
DESCRIPTION:Journey to Bethlehem is back! Journey to Bethlehem is our biannual dramatic reenactment of the Christmas story, aiming to share the Gospel and remind the community of God’s love in Jesus. This “nativity on steroids” is one of the biggest things that Bethlehem does, brings the biblical narrative to life with proclaiming prophets, bustling townsfolk, and even live animals as the whole building is transformed into 1st century Bethlehem. It is an “all hands-on deck” effort with hundreds of volunteers in various roles, from acting and animal handling, to set construction and guest registration. Over a thousand people from the community attend this event, making this a great opportunity for us to share the good news of Christ’s birth!\nThis year, Journey to Bethlehem will be on December 5th and 6th, so put it on your calendar now! Watch out for addition ways to volunteer and participate, coming soon!\n
